Raiffeisen has always been well connected to local businesses and clients. We have composed six regional equity baskets to reflect this philosophy as an investment solution. These baskets contain shares from selected successful companies in the region.
Profitable regional admixture
A famous investment advice says «Only invest in a share whose business you understand.» However, over 250 companies are listed on the Swiss stock exchange alone, which does not exactly make it easier to adhere to this stock market wisdom and choose regional stocks. And although one tends to understand the business of regional companies better, this is no guarantee of investment success.
This is why Raiffeisen has launched the regional equity baskets. These focus on well-known regional companies, primarily with small and medium-sized market capitalizations, which are also successful internationally and can bring additional returns to the equity portfolio. An investment in a regional equity basket also makes sense from a diversification perspective. This is because Swiss equity portfolios of private investors typically have a high concentration of large-cap stocks. The addition of regional equity baskets can provide more diversification. Since 2000, smaller and medium-sized companies have significantly outperformed the 20 largest Swiss stocks (4.6% p.a.) with an average annual return of 7.1%.

Our actively managed tracker certificates on regional equity baskets offer an exposure to the growth of local companies through one single product. You can choose between six different regions. Each basket contains at least six equally weighted stocks. The tracker certificates have an unlimited term and can be traded on the stock exchange at any time. They offer 100% participation in the performance of the securities contained in the respective equity basket.
